Yankees Defeat Red Sox 5-2

The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox 5-2 in a thrilling game at Fenway Park on Tuesday night. The Yankees took an early lead in the first inning when Aaron Judge hit a two-run homer off Red Sox starter Nathan Eovaldi.

The Red Sox answered back in the second inning with a solo homer by Rafael Devers. However, the Yankees regained the lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Giancarlo Stanton.

The Yankees added to their lead in the fifth inning when Judge hit his second homer of the game, a solo shot off Eovaldi. The Red Sox got one run back in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Xander Bogaerts, but the Yankees bullpen held on to secure the victory.

Lucas Luetge pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Yankees starter Jameson Taillon to earn the win. Garrett Whitlock took the loss for the Red Sox, allowing three runs on five hits in four innings of work.

The win gives the Yankees a 9-game lead over the Red Sox in the AL East. The two teams will meet again on Wednesday night at Fenway Park.
