Severe Storms Bring Damaging Winds, Torrential Rain

Confirmed Tornado Reported in Texas

The tornado activity that wreaked havoc across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas on Friday night has subsided, but overnight thunderstorms continue to pose a threat. Severe storms with damaging winds and torrential rain have spun up at least one confirmed tornado in Texas. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 2 am Wednesday for more than a dozen counties in the region.

As of 5:34 pm, a severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for an area including Fort Worth, White Settlement, and Benbrook until 6:30 pm. Additionally, a severe thunderstorm warning is currently in place for northern Tarrant and central Dallas Counties until 8:30 pm. These storms are capable of producing hail, strong winds, and flash flooding.
